Olivia the Magnificent

The phone lines are closed but the "all seeing eyes" are open. The last two nights at bedtime, Olivia the Magnificent has covered her eyes with her thumbs and said aloud, "I would like to see (Cam, Morgie, Chris, Nicole, Scrappy, Daddy, Charlie, Betsy, Pucci, Dale, etc) _________, please." I asked her what she was doing and she told me her eyes were showing her everything that was going on at that moment. AMAZING! So, if you were wondering, last night Cam was surrounded by a heard of giant buffalo, Betsy was sleeping in bed with Pucci, someone else was stuck inside a huge pumpkin banging their head against the pumpkin wall, then Pucci was standing at attention, and so on... Call tonight around 830pm if you would like to know what someone is doing. She needs her own 800 number. Psychic hotline here we come!

Exposed

O (pants down): "Charlie, see my butt?  See my butt, Charlie?"
Me: "Olivia pull your pants up now, you do not need to show Charlie your butt."
O: "Fine. I just wanted Charlie to know that everyone has a butt."

Chuck does CrossFit

And, this is our current problem. I think Chuck has been doing CrossFit. I went all MacGyver and held the door closed with one hand, untied a string from the hallway safety netting, and tied his door closed to the gate. All heck broke loose and then I heard the most angry belly flop into bed. Grandma recommended plexi but then we would have to install some sort of meal door.

Sock OCD

Really kid, does the sock toe line always have to line up with the digits so perfectly? AND, does the heel dimple really need to apex at the point of your heel, really? Really???? Every day!? Summer sock-less weather cannot come soon enough.

Mommy and Son Night - clink!

I asked Charlie what he wanted for dinner.  "Chicken. ..and pop."

So, cheers! His first root beer.

After about 10 sips, he asked for milk and then shoved his chicken down the neck of the root beer. Mmmm...

English Tornado Human Coke

From Mark: "I forgot to tell you last night that we were working on speaking English.  I had him say "Daddy I want a brownie."  Although he said all five words together it sounded like "Dah-yee I won a browee."  After I made him sit, bark, and rollover he got a brownie."

Olivia is convinced that because there are bad tornadoes, there must be good tornadoes as well. "What if a good tornado came to our house and got rid of all the bad guys. It could stay for dinner and I bet it would eat really, really fast. The good tornado would protect us."

"Mom, may I sleep in your room tonight? ... I don't like it when you and Daddy sleep together....it's not FAIR! Charlie and I should get to sleep with a human. I need a human to sleep with!!"

Ways to make better choices? Tell Olivia something is bad and then get caught drinking it. Yesterday, at the Wedding Fair, I purchased a diet coke. Time change - didn't sleep well waiting for alarm to go off - circadian rhythms MESSED UP! "Mom, what are you drinking?" "A diet coke." "MOM!!!! I don't ever want to see you drinking a diet coke AGAIN!!!" "Yes, ma'am, you're right, I am so sorry. It won't happen again."

Umm...when a girl doesn't get what she wants

Yup, this is where I found her all curled up with Uni, Hoots, and Whippo the Hippo. She made her bed, now she's lying in it.

Whoa.

Tonight we had an impromptu dinner at the grandparents house. Olivia asked to stay overnight. When it was time for us to go, Olivia backed out of her plans.
We got into the car and I asked why she changed her mind (something she often does these days). She replied, "Because I...am...afraid."

"What are you afraid of?"

Trying to think of anything at all possible without missing a beat she said, "I am afraid...um...Grandma is going to punch me in the face?"

And, here is the phrase I regret uttering this evening:

"Olivia, don't kick your brother in the penis. If you kick him there, he may not be able to have kids someday."
