Evil Grandparents
While I was away...
Mark: "Olivia, how was swimming and ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa?"
O: Totally straight faced, "Fine....I think they are trying to kill me."
M: "What?!"
O: "Yea, they are trying to kill me."
This morning I asked O to get ready by herself because I had to do a lot with Charlie.
O: "So does this mean I am a grown-up?"
Me: "Yes, this morning you are."
O: "Soooo....can I have a beer?"

Up in the clouds
O: "Hey, Mom, see that cloud over there? It looks like a zombie riding a crocodile motorcycle."
Proud Momma
Me: "Olivia, I am very proud of you. Those were two excellent questions you asked tonight."
Olivia: "Umm.. okay, that's great but when are you NOT proud of me?"

For crying out loud.
Driving home in the quiet, black of night, and coming down off the Elmo high of Sesame Street Live with her brother, I asked Olivia what her favorite part of the show was tonight. She answered my question with a question.
"Mommy, what if Costco had no food and if all the other stores had no food and all the chickens died? What would we do?" Followed by, "How did all the people come alive on the earth? When the dinosaurs were around there were no people. How did the people come alive with no parents? How are you born without a mommy?"
After some poor fish to monkey evolutionary explanation she said, "So I was a fish!!!?? I could have been eaten by a whale!!!"
Then I dropped her off at Grandma's for a sleepover with her cousin, Morgie. I guess I stayed to long,"Mom, you can go now...for crying out loud, you can go." Then Morgie chimed in when I said I wanted to stay and snuggle them, "No, you can go home. Uncle will snuggle you." Ah... the love.
