Olivia, yucky... Daddy's Little Co-pilot, and Shake Shake Shake!

The other day, Olivia and I were snuggling in bed. Laying on my side, my arm was tucked under my head leaving my underarm exposed. Olivia rolled over, face first in to my armpit and commenced licking. "Olivia...yucky!," I said.

In conversation with Grandma Stacy, I passed along the underarm story and she said, "Just wait, soon she will be eating bugs."

"Did I eat bugs?" I questioned.

"Yup," confirmed Grandma Stacy. Ughhh...yucky.

Because of the armpits and bugs, I was reminded of a few things from Montessori school with my baby brother Chris. First, we were convinced that there was a leprechaun hiding behind the dumpster at Red Owl across the street. And second, there was a boy named Tony who had a mohawk and would frequently eat worms at play time to gross us all out. Yucky.

Check out the photos and video below from the weekend...

Landing Gear Checks Out

"Oh no! We lost an engine!"

"Well, I am not exactly sure what happened. I think Daddy forgot to fill it up with gas.

At least, we are safely on the ground now"

These days, Olivia much prefers to stand. She has not crawled yet, but we are convinced that she will skip crawling all together and start running.

Here she is doing a little rump shaker.

Tooder's a belly bum?

Yes, it is true, today is the day Olivia decided it is best to sleep on her tummy. Over lunch, I went to daycare to find her passed out, face smushed into the crib floor. When she woke up, Mommy was there to greet her and her purple face. All the blood had rushed to her nose and cheeks so much so that Mommy took her temperature to make sure she did not have a fever. All was good, whew!

Thinking that tummy time was just a fluke, we went through our normal bedtime routine - jammies, vitamins, read 2-3 books, have some mooky, turn on the fan, turn on the bubble rainforest light up display thingy in the crib, and lay Olivia down to sleep. Usually, this works like a charm but not this time. This time we rolled over on to our belly over and over and over and over again and fussed every time. Finally, the 5th time or so, I let her fuss tummy-side and she went right out. I guess we are no longer side-sleepers, we are now officially belly bums. Night night punkin...

Little stinker on safari...

Olivia has mastered her "ba ba da da ba da blow bubbles toot noises" and moved on to bigger and better things. This morning I was packing the diaper bag just as we were about to run out the door to go to the zoo for Great Grandma Betty P's birthday party. I set Olivia on her little tushy in her crib, threw some Pampers in the bag, and turned around. I turned around to find the little stinker had pulled her self up on to her knees, she was peering over the crib rail and grinning ear-to-ear as if to say, "Look at me Momma I am gonna pull myself up and jump over board." Needless to say, it is time to lower the crib mattress. She is such a big girl!

Over the weekend, we visted Uncle Carl and Auntie Mauren's house warming party, saw Tooder's cousin at the zoo, and had our own little safari at the house. See photos below.

Father's Day and Look Who's Talking!

I have been slow to post lately since things have been hectic. We made a trip to see friends in Chicago and unfortunately forgot to take any photos. How could I forget, I know. Bummer. Olivia now has 6 teeth, her eye teeth just appeared out of nowhere.

Anyway, we had a great Father's Day as you can see from the photo and here is some video of Olivia chatting away about a week ago.

This one is titled, "Leave Scrappy Alone!," reminiscent of the YouTube video "Leave Britney Alone."

In this next video, Olivia shows off her new 75 cent garage sale find and Scrappy attempts to sneak in steal the show.
